The open-air mines in Rio Marina are a must-see. The campsite is about 30 km from the village of Rio Marina, where you can visit the mines with a guide and collect pieces of mineral directly from the bedrock. Also interesting is a visit to the mineral museum, where cubic or pentadodecahedral pyrite crystals are displayed in secure showcases alongside other beautiful mineral blocks, all from Elba.
